Marsèll + Diomene

Marsèll adds delicate embroideries to two shoe models in a collaboration with Damir Doma’s Diomene label.

To distill, to craft — those actions are at the center of a partnership between Marsèll and Milan-based label Diomene. Two of Marsèll’s most iconic models, a lace-up and a slipper, get remade in new hues and fabrics, featuring the minute embroideries by Diomene. Presented with Diomene’s latest collection at Milan Fashion Week, the shoes exemplify the two brands’ attention to material quality and color research. They are manufactured in a highly tactile leather, using earthy browns and muted grays, and feature flower embroideries sewn in intricate combinations of yellow, green and red. The collaboration is based on the shared understanding that reducing a pair of shoes or a piece of clothing to its essential form is a liberating practice that allows users to reinvent them in new ways.

BIOGRAPHIES
DIOMENE was founded by Damir Doma. The Croatian-born designer studied in Munich and Berlin before working for designers Raf Simons and Dirk Schönberger. He launched his eponymous brand with a menswear line in 2007, which was followed by a womenswear line in 2010. Doma moved the brand’s operations to Milan in 2015 and, following a pause due to the pandemic, launched Diomene in 2021.
